Body Worn Cameras

Officers of the Riverton Police Department have been utilizing body worn cameras since early 2013.The Riverton Police Department is proud to join the growing ranks of law enforcement agencies who have utilized the Body-Worn Camera Grant Program offered by the NJ Attorney General’s Office. The cameras will be used in accordance with the guidelines established by the New Jersey Attorney General and the directive issued by the Riverton Police Department. Our agency wants this technology to enhance and improve our relationship with you.

Effective policing is achieved through strong partnerships with all of you. Axon BWCs will be mounted to an officer’s uniform. The cameras will point away from the officer and will capture images in the camera’s field of vision. Citizens who interact with police officers will be recorded on body camera footage.

Chief's Message

As your Chief of Police, I am honored to serve alongside the officers of the Riverton Police Department. We have such a dedicated group of sworn officers and civilian employees committed to ensuring the safety of the Riverton community. Their dedication to the delivery of public safety services to the citizens that live, work and visit our wonderful town has continually resulted in Riverton being recognized as one of the safest communities in South Jersey. That designation is due to the outstanding efforts and commitment of our officers to proactively deter criminal activity, diligently investigate crimes and promote practical common-sense solutions considering all those that we serve.

As we evolve as an agency, I look forward to sharing our goals and objectives, developing and implementation of new policing strategies and taking on new challenges that will ensure our already existing footprint in the community remains strong.
