 AN ORDINANCE OF THE BOROUGH OF

RIVERTON AMENDING CHAPTER 24, ARTICLE IV,

SECTIONS 24-9 AND 24-10 TO THE

CODE OF THE BOROUGH CONCERNING

PROFESSIONAL SERVICES CONTRACT

PUBLIC NOTICE is hereby given that the foregoing Ordinance was introduced on the first reading by the Borough Council of the Borough of Riverton on June 20, 2023.

This Ordinance will be considered for final adoption after a public hearing to be held on  July 16, 2023 at 7:00pm prevailing time at the Riverton Borough Hall 505A Howard Street Riverton, NJ 08077.

A copy of the Ordinance may be obtained without cost by any member of the general public at the Clerk’s Office by calling 856-829-0120 on week days between the hours of 8:30am and 4:00pm.

EXPLANATORY STATEMENT

The purpose of this Ordinance is to amend the Borough Code Chapter 24, amending and supplementing the pay-to-play laws so the Borough is in compliance with P.L.2023, c.30., which is known as the Election Transparency Act. The Election Transparency Act  was signed into law by Governor Murphpy in 2023, amends N.J.S.A. 19:44A-20.5 by removing the prohibition on business entities that hold or seek municipal contracts from making reportable contributions to municipal committees
