AN ORDINANCE OF THE BOROUGH OF RIVERTON, COUNTY OF BURLINGTON, STATE OF NEW JERSEY, AMENDING THE INTERNATIONAL PROPERTY MAINTANENCE CODE 2024 EDITION CHAPTER THREE FOR THE BOROUGH OF RIVERTON

PUBLIC NOTICE is hereby given that the foregoing Ordinance was introduced on the first reading by the Borough Council of the Borough of Riverton held on February 18, 2026

This Ordinance will be considered for final adoption after a public hearing to be held on March 18, 2026, at 6:30 pm prevailing time at the Riverton Borough Hall located at 505A Howard Street, Riverton, NJ 08077.

A copy of the Ordinance may be obtained without cost by any member of the general public at the Clerk’s Office by calling 856-829-0120 on weekdays between the hours of 8:30am and 4:00pm.

EXPLANATORY STATEMENT

Upon adoption Ordinance No. O-2026-03 shall amend Chapter 97 of the Borough Code to include new property maintenance requirements for the street-to-sidewalk easement, commonly known as the Right of Way. Property owners must keep weeds and plant growth in this area trimmed, with noxious weeds prohibited. Exceptions apply for cultivated flowers and gardens intentionally planted and maintained. Noncompliance after notice may result in enforcement actions, including Borough removal of weeds at the owner’s expense. This ordinance takes effect upon passage and publication as required by law.
