AN ORDINANCE OF THE BOROUGH OF RIVERTON AMENDING VARIOUS SECTIONS OF CHAPTER 128 OF THE ZONING CODE OF THE BOROUGH OF RIVERTON RELATING TO THE NEIGHBORHOOD BUSINESS AND GENERAL BUSINESS DISTRICTS

PUBLIC NOTICE is hereby given that the Ordinance identified by Title as hereinafter set forth as introduced and passed upon first reading at a meeting of the Riverton Governing Body, in the County of Burlington, State of New Jersey, held on June 17, 2026.  The same Ordinance will be further considered for final passage, after a public hearing during a meeting of the Riverton Governing Body to be held on July 15, 2026, commencing at 6:30 pm, prevailing time, or at any time and place to which such meeting from time to time may be adjourned.

EXPLANATORY STATEMENT

This ordinance amends Chapters 109 and 128 of the Borough Code to establish and regulate Cultural, Recreational, Charitable, and Entertainment Events as permitted indoor activities within the General Business and Neighborhood Business Districts. This ordinance supports local businesses and community programming while requiring annual permits and compliance with all applicable zoning, construction, fire safety, occupancy, and noise regulations. The amendments are intended to enhance opportunities for residents and businesses, protect public health and safety, maintain neighborhood quality of life, and remove or update obsolete zoning provisions.
