AN ORDINANCE OF THE BOROUGH OF RIVERTON, COUNTY OF BURLINGTON, STATE OF NEW JERSEY, AMENDING CHAPTER 111 TO THE CODE OF THE BOROUGH CONCERNING
PRIVATELY-OWNED SALT STORAGE
PUBLIC NOTICE is hereby given that the foregoing Ordinance was introduced on the first reading by the Borough Council of the Borough of Riverton on October 17, 2023 and shall be considered for final adoption after a public hearing on November 21, 2023, at 7:00pm at the Riverton Borough Hall at 505A Howard Street, Riverton Borough 08077.

EXPLANATORY STATEMENT
The purpose of this ordinance is to prevent stored salt and other solid de-icing materials from being exposed to stormwater by adding Chapter 111 of the Code of the Borough of Riverton is hereby amended to add Article IIX. This ordinance establishes requirements for the storage of salt and other solid de-icing materials on properties not owned or operated by the municipality (privately-owned)* in the Borough of Riverton to protect the environment, public health, safety and welfare, and to prescribe penalties for failure to comply.
