AN ORDINANCE OF THE BOROUGH OF RIVERTON ESTABLISHING PROVISIONS FOR VACANT AND ABANDONED PROPERTY AND RESCINDING ALL PRIOR ORDINANCES CONCERNING SAME
PUBLIC NOTICE is hereby given that the foregoing Ordinance was introduced on the first reading by the Borough Council of the Borough of Riverton held on September 20 2022.
This Ordinance will be considered for final adoption after a public hearing to be held on October 18, 2022 at 7:00pm prevailing time at the Borough Hall 505A Howard Street, Riverton, NJ 08077.
A copy of the Ordinance may be obtained without cost by any member of the general public at the Clerk’s Office by calling 856-829-0120 on weekdays between the hours of 8:30am and 4:00pm.
EXPLANATORY STATEMENT
Upon adoption, this Ordinance would provide for the Borough the Code at Chapter 97 Article 1 “Vacant and Abandoned property” is hereby repealed. New provisions shall be established for vacant and abandoned property that shall be in compliance with the State of New Jersey P.L. 2021, Chapter 444, which governs a municipality’s ability to regulate, manage, and enforce the proper administration of vacant and abandoned real property in order to serve the best interests of the Borough and its residents.
