Burlington County Farmer’s Market Begins March 9th

MOORESTOWN, NJ — The Burlington County Farmers Market will kick off earlier than usual, with two months of preseason markets beginning in March.

The special markets will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on March 9, March 23, April 13 and April 27 at the Burlington County Agricultural Center (500 Centerton Rd., Moorestown). Weekly farmers markets will kick off in May.

“The Burlington County Farmers Market has grown to become one of the best markets in the state and a huge attraction for our county,” said County Commissioner Director Felicia Hopson. “It’s become so popular that we decided to start the season sooner.”

The market’s “regular season” kicks off with the traditional opening-day celebration from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 11. Subsequent markets will be held during the same hours every Saturday through Nov. 23.

Burlington County will close the season with a special holiday market from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dec. 7.

The farmers market is rain or shine.

Preseason markets will feature a mix of local farms, food and craft vendors, live music and other entertainment. Some of the participating farms and vendors include Black Sheep Farm, Cherry Grove Farm, Davidson’s Mushrooms, Little Hooves Romneys, Mill Creek Apiary, Misty Meadow Sheep Dairy, Pinelands Produce, Armageddon Brewing, Boheme Foods, Flour-ish, HoopHouse Bakery, Humble Spud, The Soup Bar, Louis Organics, Mom Mom’s Polish Foods, Our Souls Shine, Tara’s Cozy Kitchen, Tis So Sweet and Wild Flour Bakery.

Once the regular season begins, free cooking demonstrations will be held in the Agricultural Center’s Farmhouse Kitchen.
