AN ORDINANCE OF THE BOROUGH OF RIVERTON, COUNTY OF BURLINGTON, STATE OF NEW JERSEY, AMENDING THE INTERNATIONAL PROPERTY MAINTANENCE CODE 2024 EDITION CHAPTER THREE FOR THE BOROUGH OF RIVERTON
PUBLIC NOTICE is hereby given that the foregoing Ordinance was introduced on the first reading by the Borough Council of the Borough of Riverton held on February 18, 2026
This Ordinance will be considered for final adoption after a public hearing to be held on March 4, 2026, at 6:30 pm prevailing time at the Riverton Borough Hall located at 505A Howard Street, Riverton, NJ 08077.

EXPLANATORY STATEMENT
This ordinance amends Chapter 128 of the Borough of Riverton’s Zoning Code to implement required changes associated with the municipality’s fourth-round affordable housing obligations. The amendments create and revise zoning provisions to permit affordable housing development consistent with state requirements. Key actions include establishing the AH‑1 Affordable Housing Overlay District, updating permitted uses and bulk standards, adjusting minimum density and affordability set‑asides, and designating specific blocks and lots for affordable housing overlays. The ordinance also formalizes redevelopment requirements under the Baptist Home Affordable Housing Overlay, ensuring preservation of the existing structure while permitting up to 22 residential units with a 20% affordable housing set‑aside. These changes collectively ensure compliance with affordable housing mandates and support the Borough’s long‑term housing plan.
