CDC Cloth Mask Recommendations and How to Guide

The Office of Congressman Andy Kim received the following information from the IRS pertaining to relief check payments for certain recipients of federal benefits. This information pertains to those receiving Social Security retirement, survivor or disability benefits (SSDI).

Individuals receiving Social Security benefits AND have children under the age of 17 MUST REGISTER HERE by Noon EST on Wednesday, April 22, so they can receive the additional $500 per eligible child with their stimulus check this year.

By entering their information on the IRS website about them and their qualifying children, they can receive the $500 per eligible child payment automatically in addition to their $1,200 individual payment. Otherwise, the IRS will send their $1,200 payment without the child payment.

Additionally, SSI recipients and VA benefit recipients who weren’t required to file a return and have eligible children under the age of 17 are also urged to register on the IRS website as soon as possible to ensure they receive the $500 payment this year when the IRS begins disbursements to these groups.
